DEVELOPMENT DIRECTIONS
A platform with room to grow.
Voice and ATAK lead the integration work. Telemetry, video and additional connectivity remain clearly identified development tracks.
Mixed development stagesATAK and voice
Raptor Comms and node-side voice controls are the primary software integration tracks. See their dedicated pages for observed test milestones and the remaining work.
MAVLink telemetry
MAVLink integration has been discussed alongside OpenMANET development. The Raptor path requires firmware-specific validation, autopilot integration and testing. An independent RC link should be retained; no flight-safety or control-link guarantee is made.
Video and IP feeds
Video is an evaluation target rather than a guaranteed capability. Usable resolution and reliability depend on link capacity, hop count and competing traffic.
Satellite messaging
RockBLOCK 9704 research focuses on message-based remote data. It is distinct from broadband IP backhaul and must not be presented as continuous voice or video connectivity.
Future expansion
External screen/control hardware, alternative radio paths and cellular gateway automation are exploratory. Own SIM/eSIM infrastructure is a separate research direction, not a feature of HaLow itself.
